Since 2024
BSF Mixed Ventures Limited (BMV) is a Refugee Youth-Led Enterprise social enterprise dedicated to sustainable waste management and circular agribusiness solutions. The company was established in 2024 to address the growing challenges of organic waste accumulation, high livestock feed costs, and limited access to affordable agricultural inputs within communities.
Operating primarily in Uganda, BMV leverages Black Soldier Fly (BSF) technology to convert organic waste into valuable products such as high-protein animal feed and organic fertilizer. Through this innovative waste-to-value approach, the company contributes to environmental conservation while creating economic opportunities for farmers, youth, and local communities.
BMV’s operations focus on the collection and processing of organic waste, which is transformed into BSF larvae and frass. These products serve as sustainable alternatives to conventional livestock feed and chemical fertilizers, supporting improved agricultural productivity and reducing dependency on expensive and environmentally harmful inputs.
Since its inception, BMV has steadily expanded its production capacity, increasing waste processing volumes and larvae output. The enterprise has also engaged in product demonstrations, market development, and compliance processes to ensure quality and acceptance of its products in the market.
